About Crown Kits
A Crown Kit contains most of the materials you’ll need to attach your child’s braids to a hat. Read the story that inspired Prevailing Crowns.
Each Crown Kit may include (while supplies last):
a hat:
Sizes: Youth or Teen
Colors: Pink or Purple (WITH sewn-in velcro for hair attachments); Red or Black (WITHOUT sewn-in velcro and designed to be worn without hair attachments)
Instructions on how to capture the hair and safely attach the braids to the hat
Mini hot glue gun (if needed for hair attachment)
Parents will receive: Spiritual care guide booklet
The braids are not included in the kit.
If your child’s hair is starting to fall out, we recommend you capture it using these instructions.
If you need hair, consider finding someone in your community to donate to you.
Once you receive your Prevailing Crowns Kit, you can use your child’s hair or your donor’s hair to complete the Crown.
Request a Crown Kit
The pink and the purple hats have sewn-in velcro which allow hair braids to be attached to the hat. The red and black hats do not have the velcro and are designed to be worn without hair attachments.
Please note that hat colors are on an availability basis. If your child’s first color choice is not available, they may receive an alternate color - thank you for your understanding. We will attempt to fulfill all requests in a timely manner. For common questions, please refer to our FAQs.
